For an online instructor, weekly news items, announcements, reminders and encouragement are an integral part of communication with students and parents.  The homepage is source for news and deadlines as well as information regarding extra help sessions or synchronous sessions.  I also include current events related to studying Spanish.  Additional links for practicing grammar, in addition to personal notes about the upcoming holidays or seasons are also included.  I also decrease the size of images and use video converters for formatting videos

The way that instructors communicate, and the manner in which information is presented are crucial for student success.  The more communication, the better and the more creative an instructor can be, the more the students will access the homepage for reminders and information.  An instructor’s homepage is a reflection of their personality, and it should be inviting and welcoming as well as informative.
