This is a content map of the ACTFL guidelines for level I modern language proficiency.  In order to develop the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, teachers must understand what the students are capable of doing or what their expected performance levels are. With a focus on the expected outcome for level I, teachers can make wise decisions regarding expectations for student learning and achievement.  Cobb County world language teachers are collaborating on a common assessment for level I speaking proficiency of modern languages.  Having the guidelines in a map form provides teachers with a greater understanding of what their students are capable of producing.
