Navigate 2.1.4- Lecture Capture

Lecture capture is a method of presenting lectures online by recording classroom activities in a digital format.  Students can then view the lecture or presentation from their computers or mobile devices. Slide shows, videos or whiteboards can be incorporated into the lecture capture to also support and enhance instruction.  Students have the freedom of accessing these when they are not able to attend the “live” lecture.  Teachers can use peripheral tools such as microphones, flip cameras, web cams or document cameras.  Lecture captures are basically using technology that allows teachers to record what would happen in a classroom and making it available to their students online.  It is simply a way to provide students with quality instruction and flexibility when they miss class either virtually or face-to-face. In my opinion, there are advantages for students with lecture capture because it allows students to listen to the lecture at their own pace and as many times as they need to.
